KABUL (Pajhwok): Vice-President Amrullah Saleh announced on Wednesday the arrest of an 11-member Taliban group that killed Yama Siawash and was involved in targeted killings and IED attacks.
Former journalist and Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) employee, Siawash, was killed some five months ago along with two of his colleagues in an IED explosion in the Macro Ryan neighbourhood of Kabul.
Saleh tweeted police had busted the group of 11 Taliban militants in connection with the terrorist attacks. The detainees have been involved in targeted killings and roadside bombings.
The VP added he had invited media representatives, civil society and human rights’ advocates to interview the detainees and watch their files.
Amidst escalating violence, IED explosions and targeted killings have spiked in the capital Kabul and other parts of the country.
