MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A military hospital director was killed along with his driver in a gun attack in northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Monday morning, an official said.
Police spokesman Adel Shah Adel told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place after two gunmen opened fire at an Afghan National Army (ANA) pick-up.
He said Saleh Mohammad Samim, director of the Shaheen Military Corps hospital, and his driver were killed in the armed attack.
According to Adel, the attackers managed to escape, but police have launched a manhunt for the assailants.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack in the provincial capital.
