PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A dozen people have been wounded in an explosion during a football match in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan.
The blast occurred at a ground in Allahbad Town of Hub district on Tuesday, the assistant commissioner told newsmen.
Mohammad Ahmed Zaheer said the injured were evacuated to Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital for first aid. They were later taken to the port city of Karachi.
At least two of the injured are said to be in critical condition. The blast was triggered by a locally manufactured improvised explosive device (IED).
The explosion came during the final match of a football tournament dedicated to martyred police personnel, according to a police officer.
