Renowned JIA commander, his driver gunned down in Kabul

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Undefined gunmen have shot dead Jamiat-e-Islami Afghanistan (JIA) Commander Sultan Mohammad also known as Haji Qand and his driver in Kabul province, an official said on Friday.

Kabul’s Mir Bacha Kot District Chief Syed Khalid told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened on Thursday evening at around 6:00pm in the Akhund Kala locality situated in between Mir Bacha Kot and Kalakan districts.

He said gunmen first opened fire on Hajii Qand’s vehicle and then chased him while he was injured.

Qand was trying to hide in a house in the Akhund Kala locality but gunmen followed him and sprayed bullets on him in the house where he tried to hide.

Qand hailed from the Rabat locality of Bagram district and he was a renowned figure of JIA in Bagram district.
