From KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty security force members have been freed from Taliban’s captivity in Nimroz province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Saturday.
A brief statement from the ministry said the security personnel were freed from a Taliban prison during an operation in Khashrod district on Friday night.
Those released as a result of the overnight raid, the MoD said, included 17 Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and three members of the police force.
“Seven Taliban, including a commander, were killed during the operation,” claimed the ministry, which alleged prisoners had been tortured by the captors.
