Nangarhar: District police chief wounded in explosion

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The police chief of the Kuz Kunar district of Nangarhar province has been wounded in a blast in Jalalabad, officials said on Sunday.

The explosion targeted the vehicle the district police head was travelling in the in Shah Borhan Agha shrine area on the Jalalabad-Kunar highway.

With police yet to comment on the incident, Jalalabad Zonal Hospital spokesman Gulzada Sangar confirmed receiving the Kuz Kunar district police head.

He said the police officer was in stable condition and that was slightly wounded in the incident. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
