KABUL (Pajhwok): A Taliban radio station called ShariatGhag has been operating in northern Kunduz province.
Abdul Shakur Qadradan, director of culture and information in Kunduz, told Pajhwok Afghan News the radio station could be heard on FM 79.5.
He said he had shared the issue with provincial officials and the Ministry of Culture and information to take steps to prevent it.
IsmatullahMuradi, a spokesman for the Kunduz governor, said the Taliban radio station was broadcasting by using mobile devices.
"The radio has no specific place to take action against it, it is broadcasting on satellite devices, but we are trying to eliminate it," he added.
Taliban spokesman, ZabihullahMujahid, said they were operating ShariatGhag radio station in Kunduz for the past 10 days.
He said the radio also covered Kunduz, Takhar, Baghlan and Samangan provinces.
