KABUL (Pajwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday security forces had seized 154 bags of ammonium nitrate and arrested two Taliban men in Tarwa district of southeastern Paktika province.
In a statement, the ministry said the ammonium nitrate was recovered during an operation by the 2nd Brigade of the 203rd Thunder Corps in the district yesterday.
The source said armed Taliban used the fertilizer in making roadside bombs to target security forces and civilians.
According to the statement, a tractor and a motorcycle were also recovered during the operation.
It comes amid increased roadside blasts in Kabul and other provinces.
