KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MoRRD) will implement around 94 development projects worth 1.4 billion afghanis in different parts of the country, an official said on Wednesday.
The contracts for these projects were signed today (Wednesday) in Kabul between the private sector and local councils.
Acting Rural Rehabilitation and Development Minister MujeebRahmanKarimi said the projects included construction of retaining walls, irrigation canals, transport schemes, bridges, water heads, second grade concrete walls and water lifting projects.
He said the projects will be implemented in Badakhshan, Badghis, Baghlan, Farah, Ghor, Kabul, Kandahar, Kapisa, Khost, Kunar, Kunduz, Logar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Panjsher, Parwan, Takhar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Laghman, Paktika, Nuristan and Zabul provinces.
Karimi said the projects’ implementation will help generate jobs for 205,000 persons.
He said the schemes would cost 1.4 billion afghanis and local people would contribute 10 percent to the costs.
