KABUL (Pajhwok): Two public development institutions of Qatar will finance a vocational training project for Afghan girls and women.
The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and Digital Citizen Fund (DCF) have inked a grant agreement to support the vocational training project, a Doha-vased media outlet reported.
The signing ceremony was attended by Qatar’s Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater and Ambassador to Afghanistan Saeed Mubarak al-Khayareen.
The agreement was aimed to provide high quality training and technology to Afghan women and girls, Qatar News Agency said.
One training programme will focus on business and entrepreneurial skills to allow 1200 women and girls enter the workforce.
It will have a long-term impact by helping alleviate poverty rates and improving the economic future of Afghan women and girls.
