SHARAN (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a civilian and wounded three others, including a tribal elder, an official said on Thursday.
Shah Mahmood Arian, spokesman for Paktika police, told Pajhwok Afghan News the attackers opened fire at Sardar Khan, a tribal elder, in Yahyakhel district on Wednesday.
He said one civilian was killed and three others including Sardar Khan, were injured in the attack.
Arian added no arrests had been made so far in connection with the gun attack. Police, however, have launched an investigation.
Bahawal Khan, a local resident, told Pajhwok Afghan News the gunmen opened fire at the tribal elder, who hit out at the Taliban at some gatherings.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
A few days ago, unidentified gunmen wounded a moneychanger and two others in the Orgun district of Paktika.
