KABUL (Pajhwok): The British Embassy in Kabul on Thursday advised British nationals against all travel to Afghanistan, asking them to consider leaving by commercial means, in view of the likely heightened security risks.
In a statement, the embassy said the UK remained committed to supporting Afghanistan, and the UK’s diplomatic and development efforts would be sustained.
The British Embassy in Kabul yesterday updated its Travel Advice to advise against all travel to Afghanistan.
The mission said the change in the level of advice followed the announcement by NATO Ministers on April14 that its forces would start to leave Afghanistan by May 1 to be completed within the next few months.
The British travel advice for Afghanistan was already stringent and previously advised against all but essential travel to only four particular areas of Afghanistan, and against all travel to the rest of Afghanistan.
