23 Taliban killed in Ghazni operation

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Twenty-three Taliban have been killed and seven others injured in security forces operation in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Friday.

Emal Khan Momand, spokesperson for 203 Maiwand Military Corps, said that Afghan infantry and air force carried operations against the Taliban in the Asfanda and Ghwjan locality of Moqar district.

He said 23 Taliban were killed and seven others injured during the operation.

The Taliban military equipment, weapons and some ammunition recovered by security forces during the operation.

Rahimullah, the resident of Ghazni province acknowledged that fighting had intensified recently in some areas of Ghazni province.

“Heavy fighting underway in the Moqar, Deh ak and other districts. People forced to leave their homes and displace to other places. They should stop now,” he said.

The Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid claimed capturing two security forces posts in the Arzo locality of Ghazni City. He said 10 security personnel were killed and one arrested in the firefight.
