KABUL (Pajhwok): Ten people died from Covid-19 infection in Afghanistan during the last 24 hours when 113 new cases were detected, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Saturday.
The ministry in a statement said 1,137 people underwent tests since Friday and the virus was detected in 113 people, pushing the overall tally to 58,843.
It said 35 cases were detected in Nangarhar, 33 in Kabul, 14 in Kandahar, 9 in Baghlan, 8 in Badakhshan, four each in Balkh, Takhar, three in Kunar and one each in Helmand, Uruzgan and Ghor provinces.
At least 29 individuals recovered, taking the recoveries to 52,392 and 10 people lost their lives to the virus during the period, with the total death toll reaching 2,582.
