KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan security forces are likely to get control of three military bases and an airport to from the US forces as they prepare to exit the country.
The military bases and the airport would be handed over to the local forces in the next fortnight, a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
Ariana News quoted a well-placed source as saying the US military facilities in Kandahar, Helmand, Kabul and Maidan Wardak provinces would switch to the Afghan forces.
“A joint committee, including National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib and US Forces from Resolute Support mission, has been tasked with ensuring a smooth handover,” the media outlet said.
