KABUL (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai has denounced civilian casualties in shelling and airstrikes in Maidan Wardak province.
Several civilians suffered casualties in recent airstrikes conducted by the Afghan security forces in Jalrez district, say media reports.
However, the Ministry of Defense claimed 28 Taliban were killed in Special Forces’ operations, supported by the air force.
Voicing his deep concern at civilian casualties, Karzai urged the warring parties to continue peace negotiations and end the war in the country.
