KABUL (Pajhwok): The last German officer involved in training Afghan police personnel has left the country.
The last German trainer left Afghanistan on Wednesday, though the German Police Project Team (GPPT) was scheduled to end on April 30.
“The training of Afghan police officers is not just a regular patrol, but brave service under great personal privation,” DPA quoted German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer as saying.
Over 80,000 Afghan police officers have been trained over the past two decades, according to the Interior Ministry in Berlin.
