Suicide bomber killed before reaching target in Kunar

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A suicide bomber has been killed before executing his plan in eastern Kunar province, a military statement said on Thursday.

The 2^nd brigade of the Selab Military Corps said the incident took place in the Asmar district of the province on Wednesday night.

It added the suicide bomber wanted to target the 1^st battalion of local posts at around 8:00pm, but the vest attached to his body went off before he reached the target.

According to the statement, no one else suffered casualties in the incident. The militants have so far said nothing in this regard.
