1 ANA soldier killed, 25 injured in Bagram explosion

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier has been killed and 25 others have been wounded as a result of an IED blast at the Bagram AirBase in central Parwan province, police said on Saturday.

Abdul Wasi Rahimi, deputy police chief for Parwan, said the blast happened inside an ANA mosque on the base on Friday night.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.

Meanwhile, a security official in Kabul reported a failed attempted killing of an officer in the Chaharasiab district.

Wishing anonymity, the source said a terrorist tried to kill Gen. Khalil Imamzada Lalandari, chief of Chaharasiab’s Dar-i-LAlandar social council.

Lalandari, wh is also a military officer, survived the botched life attaemp in Bagh-i-Chehal Satoon area in the seventh police district of Kabul.

But security guards of the military officer, opened fire at the terrorist and wounded him.

The official refrained from providing further details of the incident.
