KABUL (Pajhwok): The US, EU, Turkey and Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned a truck bombing in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province.

Twenty-six people were killed and over 100 injured in the bombing on a guest house in Pul-i-Alam on Friday evening.

In a tweet US Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson said: “Horrible to learn about yesterday’s truck bomb attack on a guesthouse in Logar, with high school students and police officers among those murdered. We condemn this & all acts of violence against Afghans. My condolences to the families and friends of the victims.”

European Union also condemned the bombing and tweeted: “In the holy month of Ramadan, horrible news on a car bomb in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province, killing and injuring innocent civilians, including students, this evening. This is a tragedy for the whole country and our thoughts go to all affected. This senseless violence must stop.”

Turkey foreign ministry in a statement condemned the terrorist attack in Logar: “We condemn the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist attack and hope that they will be held accountable before justice.”

“We are deeply saddened to receive the news that that a bomb attack at the time of Iftar, has claimed many lives and left several people injured, including high school students in Pul-e Alam, the capital of Logar province of Afghanistan.”

The Turkish ministry added: “We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, speedy recovery to the injured and extend our condolences to the friendly and brotherly people and Government of Afghanistan.”

Pakistan Special Representative for Afghanistan SadiqKhan in a tweet condemned the attack and said: “Strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Pul-e-Alam in which several lives were lost & many others were injured. Our heartfelt condolences to bereaved families & prayers for injured. We stand against terrorism & will continue to support peace & prosperity in Afghanistan.”
