KABUL (Pajhwok): NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has reaffirmed support to Afghan security forces despite the alliance announcement to end its Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.
He said this on Thursday during European Union (EU) defence ministers meeting which also discussed situation in Afghanistan and NATO countries cooperation with Afghanistan.
Stoltenberg said that although NATO mission in Afghanistan was coming to an end in months to come but the alliance cooperation would continue in the future.
He said: “Ending Resolute Support mission did not mean ending our partnership with Afghanistan. This in the opening of a new chapter of relationship and now we eye our financial support, training and international community cooperation with Afghanistan.”
He said NATO fully supported Afghan peace forces and efforts in this regard.
