KABUL (Pajhwok): Amid intense fighting, the Afghan National Army (ANA) has deployed special units to northern Baghlan province.
Army and police personnel, as well as special forces, had launched a counter-terrorism operation in Baghlan, the Ministry of Defence said.
“The enemy has suffered 100 casualties in the fight against the national police, the NDS and the army, said Shafiullah Mohammadi, the commander of the special units.
A private TV channel quoted him as saying: “Taliban’s casualties have increased with the arrival of the commando forces and the operation will continue.”
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that all regions in Baghlan-i-Markazi district adjacent areas remain under their control.
