Logar economy department director shot dead

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot and killed the director of the Economy Department of central Logar province on Sunday.

A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that unknown armed men attacked Abdul MananSaeedi in Kalngar area of Pul-i-Alam City this morning.

He said: “Saeedi was travelling in his private vehicle to Logar from Kabul when unknown armed men opened fire at him and killed him on the spot.”

According to the source, no arrest has been made regarding the assassination but police are investigating the incident.

Javed, a resident of the area, told Pajhwok that a red-coloured corolla vehicle came under gun attack and one occupant of the car was killed.

He said the victim was driving and received bullets in the chest.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident.
