KABUL (Pajhwok): Sara-i-Shahzada money market traders in Kabul on Tuesday said police on orders of first vice-president, AmrullahSaleh, illegally launched an operation and destroyed the fourth story of the building.

Haji Mohammad Daadgul, acting head of Sara-i-Shahzada Market union, told Pajhwok Afghan News that he was informed last night about the entry of unidentified armed men to the market.

He said when he reached the market, he saw police taking telephones of the market guards and he was barred from entering the market.

He quoted the police chief of the first police district as saying that the four store was being destroyed as per order from the first VP, Amrullah Saleh.  However, he said that police did not show any orders about the action to them.

Daadgul also shared documents with Pajhwok that showed permission had been granted for construction of the fourth story of the market.

He said the government illegally raided people wealth and it should provide explanation on the regard, adding that the first VP had ordered the destruction on the demand of a few individuals.

“The government is creating concerns for people and wants wealthy people to leave this country”, he added.

“The first VP probably took this action because people do not pay him tribute, I will tell on his face to prove his courage in the battleground,” he said.

Daadgul said that many people had withdrawn their capital from the market after the last night incident.

Maqbol, another official of the market said that they had all documents for construction of the building, but the government still carried out an illegal action.

He said that the market suffered near a million dollar loss by the destruction. “We will move the court to follow the case,” he said.

Officials of the local district were also present at the scene, Maqbol said without giving further details.

Pajhwok tried to contact the first VP’s office on the regard, but his spokesman did not respond.
