KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Adela Raz has been appointed as the country’s ambassador to the United States, replacing Roya Rahmani, who has been accused of corruption.

A reliable government source, speaking on condition of anonymity, also confirmed that Adela Raz has been appointed Afghanistan's ambassador to the United States.
Before her appointment as Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations, Adela Raz served as Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs at the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She replaces Roya Rahmani, who has been charged with embezzlement in the construction of the wall of the Afghan embassy in the United States and has been referred to the prosecutor's office.
