KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan National Army (ANA) says it has launched clearing operations at the end of a three-day Eid ceasefire.
Operations have been initiated simultaneously in Lashkargah, rge capital of southern Helmand province, Nawa and Nahri Saraj districts.
In a statement, the 215th Maiwand Military Corps said: “The Afghan forces are committed to suppressing terrorists in the country.”
A day earlier, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) accused the Taliban of violating the ceasefire in seven provinces of the country.
Deputy spokesman for MoD Fawad Aman said; “The ceasefire has been violated in several areas of the country and terrorist groups under Taliban leadership violated the ceasefire.
“The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is committed to the ceasefire, but enemies are not as they violated the ceasefire,” Aman claimed.
