PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Local officials on Tuesday said a health clinic was destroyed and one person was wounded when Afghan Air Forces dropped bombs in Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province.
Local people say the clinic was mostly destroyed when Afghan forces hit it with two bombs today morning.
A resident of the district, who wished to go unnamed, said that Afghan Air Forces bombarded a clinic in the Shahr-i-Kuhna area of the district today morning.
“One of my friends works in this clinic, he said that health workers and doctors fled the clinic after the first bomb, later the second bomb was also dropped,” he said.
A doctor working in the clinic who wished to go unnamed also said that two bombs were dropped on the healthcare center which he said was mostly destroyed. He said one worker of the clinic was wounded.
“Initial information show that a worker of the clinic named Kamal Din was wounded, but the fight is still ongoing in the area, no one can go there, information about damages may be revealed later,” he said.
Baghlan public health director, Dr.MohibullahHabib confirmed the attack on the clinic and said that one person was wounded in the incident.
Taliban spokesman, ZabihullahMujahid said that a patient was killed and eight other people including doctors wounded in the incident.
He said the clinic, an ambulance and a civilian’s vehicle were also destroyed in the bombardment.
