4 killed, 2 wounded in Khost gun attack

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): At least four people have been killed, including a child, in a gun attack in southeastern Khost province, security officials said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Najib Ahmad Najib told Pajhwok Afghan the incident took place in the Dorash village of Khost City on Monday evening.

He added the victims were all civilians who were attacked on their way home from a Khatmil Quran ceremony.

Najib added the victims belonged to three different families. Personal enmity was behind the killings.

Samiullah, a resident of the area, said only two of the slain individuals had enmity and the rest were had no issue with anyone.

Public Health director Dr. Habib Shah Ansari, meanwhile, confirmed receiving four bodies and two injured people from the attack site. The injured are in stable condition.
