Police officer killed, another injured in Ghor, Nangarhar blasts

JALALABAD/FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A police officer has been killed and another injured in separate incidents of violence in western Ghor and eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Tuesday.

Deputy Police Chief of a police Jalalabad city’s 8<sup>th</sup> Police District was and three other policemen were injured in a roadside blast, Police Spokesperson Farid Khan said.

The incident happened near Behsud Bridge of the City, he said.

Jalalabad Zonal Hospital Spokesperson Gulzar Sangar said three injured people evacuated to the hospital from the site of the blast. One succumbed to wounds, he added.

But a well-placed source on the condition of anonymity said deputy police Chief of 8<sup>th</sup> Police District was injured in the blast. He was discharged after initial treatment.

Separately, Police Chief of 2<sup>nd</sup> Police District of Ferozkoh City, the capital of Ghor, was killed in a blast, Governor Spokesperson Abdul Zahir Faizzada said.

He added the blast happened before noon on the vehicle of Deputy Police Chief Hameedullah Hasanzada.

He said Hasanzada and his security guard killed in the blast.
