KABUL (Pajhwok): Industry and commerce minister Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani on Wednesday said that he was working on a program to double domestic production for export and sell them all with Afghanistan trademark in the next six months.
On the other hand, Ghoryani said blamed the massive fire outbreak in Islam Qala dry port on a faulty plan of ministries of public works and transport as well as negligence by TCRC Company.
While briefing the Wolesi Jirga or lower house of the parliament today, Ghoryani said that his ministry was working with India and France on a program for taking certificate for the country’s domestic products.
“In the next four or six months, all the country’s products being exported would contain Afghanistan label and it would increase by double our exports,” he said.
Some of Afghanistan products currently exported abroad are labeled under some other countries.
Ghoryani said that his ministry had developed five programs for the improvement of the country’s commercial activities and preventing the country from economic recession. However, he did not provide further details.
About capital flight, he said he was working on fundamental reforms to provide all needed facilities for safe commercial activities in the country and would simplify licensing and other relevant processes for business people.
About massive fire that torched over a thousand cargo vehicles in Islam Qala port in Herat province a few months back, he said that his team was working on a plan to prevent such incidents in the future.
