Afghanistan records 406 new Covid-19 cases, 10 deaths

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan recorded 406 positive coronavirus cases and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Friday.

The number of total Covid-19 cases has surged to 65,486 in the country since the inception of the virus, the ministry said in a statement.

Of the new cases, 111 people tested positive in Kabul, 14 in Herat, 65 in Kandahar, 18 in Balkh, 28 in Nangarhar, 14 in Takhar, 19 in Kunduz, 24 in Parwan, 22 in Maidan Wardak, 15 in Kapesa, 91 in Daikundi, 47 in Logar, 10 in Kunar, five in Panjshir and one case in Khost province.

Ten persons have died from the virus in the past 24 hours and that took the total number of deaths to 2,792.
