SHIBEIRGHAN (Pajhwok): Local officials in northern Jawzjan province confirm that a pro-Marshal AbdulRashid Dostum public uprising commander has been killed by his bodyguard.
A source, who wished anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News Aq Mohammad, a public uprising commander in Boyan area of Aqcha district, was killed by his bodyguard while equipping his security personal after Friday night’s clash with the Taliban.
The source added the bodyguard has escaped and surrendered to the Taliban after killing the commander.
According to the source, the slain commander was close to Marshal AbdulRashid Dostum and served in the area for a long time and that the assassin was probably an infiltrate of the Taliban and was looking for an opportunity to kill the commander.
The Taliban have not commented in this regard.
The Taliban on Friday night attacked security posts in Boyan village and killed two Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel and ten others including four local residents.
