547 people test positive for Covid-19: MoPH

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Sunday announced detecting 547 new positive Covid-19 cases across the country in the last 24 hours.

The ministry in a statement said 2,632 people underwent tests since Saturday and the virus was detected in 547 people, pushing the overall tally to 66,275.

It said 146 cases were detected in Kabul, 89 in Kandahar , 71 in Takhar , 38 in Nangarhar, 34 in Logar, 26 each in Kunduz, Maidan Wardak, Badakhshan, 19 in Helmand, 14 in Farah, 13-13 in Uruzgan, Laghman, seven in Herat, six in Zabul, five each in Balkh, Baghlan, Kunar, three in Daikundi, and one in Khost province.

At least 146 individuals recovered, taking the recoveries to 55,503 and 10 people lost their lives to the virus during the period, with the total death toll reaching 2,812.
