Rashid Khan urges world leaders to work for peace

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan has called on world leaders to work for peace in Afghanistan.

He wrote on his Twitter account late Saturday that he was not a politician but called on world leaders to work for peace in the region.

“I grew up in war and I know children are scared of this situation, I can’t see it anymore,” said Rashid Khan.

The Afghan cricketer said he could no longer watch the killings of children in Afghanistan and Palestine. “We need to unite for the facts”, he said.

According to the United Nations; hundreds of children are killed and injured every year in the war in Afghanistan.

Last month, up to 70 children were killed and dozens more injured in a car bomb attack on Kabul’s Sayed al-Shuhada school.

Dozens of children have also been killed or injured in recent Israeli airstrikes on Palestine.
