JALALABAD (Pajhwok): National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces have arrested a five-member kidnap gang over abducting a four years old child in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials said the kidnappers had taken 200,000 Pakistani rupees from the child’s family before releasing the child.
The spokesman for the Nangarhar governor, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that provincial NDS personnel arrested a five-member group of kidnappers.
He said the group members were arrested in various raids in Jalalabad city, Lalpora, Shinwari and Momand Dara districts.
According to the spokesperson, the kidnappers had abducted the child around a month and a half ago and released the child for 200,000 Pakistani rupees.
Grey-bearded Akram, a resident on Kot district and a member of the gang, confessed to abducting the child in a video that the NDS sent to Pajhwok Afghan News.
Similarly, NDS also sent video confessions of the four other kidnappers to Pajhwok Afghan News.
