JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of neighboring Kunar province survived a bomb attack in the Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province late on Thursday, an official said.
Police Chief Farid Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News Governor Iqbal Saeed’s convey struck a roadside bomb in the Shaburhan locality of Behsud district.
The governor spokesperson Abdul GhaniMusamim confirmed the blast and said Governor Saeed escaped unhurt but his two bodyguards were injured.
Zahid, an eyewitness, said after the blast, the bodyguards of Kunar governor opened fire in the air as well.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Earlier in the day, Kama District Chief, his guard and a civilian were injured in a blast.
