KABUL (Pajhwok): Coronavirus cases surges in Afghanistan as the country recorded 977 positive cases and 18 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Friday.
During the period 3,800 suspected Covid-19 patients referred for test to different laboratories in which 977 were positive taking the total number of positive cases in the country to 70,107.
Kabul province registered the most positive Covid-19 cases 350, Balkh 99, Parwan 63, Kandahar 56, Logar 41, Takhar 41, Maidan Wardak 31, Nangarhar 30, Kapesa and Ghazni 27 each, Laghman 25, Baghlan, Badakhshan and Panshir 20 each, Uruzgan 13, Nuristan 10, Faryab 8, Herat 7, Nimroz 6, Khost 3 and Zabul 2.
Over 150 Covid-19 patients recovered from the pandemic in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recovered people to 57,119.
Eighteen more patients died from the virus during the period taking the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in the country to 2,899.
