KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of flour, rice and tea have increased while the value of ghee, gold and liquefied gas dipped during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.
Zamari Safi, head of Food Traders Union in Kabul, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the wholesale price of 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour increased from 1,550 afghanis to 1,600 afghanis, 24kg of Pakistani rice from 2,350afs to 2,400afs and a kilogram of African black tea from 320afs to 340afs.
However, he said that the price of a 16 liters tin of Malaysian ghee dipped from 1,980afs to 1,950afs.
HamedSofizada, a retailer in Dahan-i-Bagh market in Kabul, said a 49kg bag of Kazakhstani flour cost 1,650afs, a 49kg sack of Indian sugar 2,400afs and a 24kg bag of Pakistani rice 2,450afs, 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil cost 1,980afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea cost 350afs and same quantity of African black tea cost 370afs.
Gold, gas prices dipped.
Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Mariam area of Kabul, said that the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased to 3,780afs from 3,750 afs, and the same quantity of Russian variety to 3,250afs from 3,160 afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in KololaPushta area of Kabul said the price of one kilogram of the commodity was decreased from 60afs to 55afs.
A worker at Hashemi Fuel Station in Taimani area of Kabul said the price of one liter of diesel stood at 50afs and the same quantity of petrol at 46afs.
Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service in Kabul, said one US dollar accounted for 78.40afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 494afs, against last week’s 77.80afs and 494afs respectively.
