MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): At least seven civilians have been killed and 10 others wounded in a mortar attack in central Kapisa province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Shourish told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened on Saturday night when a mortar shell struck a home in the Anar Joy village of Tagab district where a wedding ceremony was in progress.
He claimed the shell was fired by the Taliban and that all victims were civilians.
But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid rejected the claim and said the mortar shell was fired by the security personnel.
