Former Samangan governor, Aibak City mayor arrested

AIBAK (Pajhwok): Former Samangan Governor Abdul LatifIbrahimi, mayor of Aibak city and some of their colleagues have been arrested on corruption charges, an official said on Tuesday.

Tariq Aryan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said the two senior former Samangan officials have been arrested over misuse of authority, illegal activities, usurpation of government properties and embezzlement of around 600 million afs.

Aryan did not name the arrested personnel, but according to another source Former Governor Abdul LatifIbrahimi and Aibak City Mayor FerozTagin had been arrested by personnel of Serious Crime Branch of MoI.
