KABUL (Pajhwok): Britain has recently sent 50 Special Force personnel to Afghanistan in order to help safely withdraw the country’s remaining troops from the longest war.
British newspaper, The Mirror, on Thursday reported that the Britain is withdrawing all its troops from Afghanistan under NATO’s longest foreign war against terror mission.
According to the paper, 50 British Special Forces have been sent to Kabul to protect hundreds of UK troops as they finally prepare to leave Afghanistan after 20 years.
The UK currently has 600 troops in Afghanistan who are engaged in training Afghan security and defense forces.
British security sources have said the newly arrived British Special Forces are jointly conducting air and ground patrolling with the US troops.
Sources said that withdrawing from Afghanistan would have its risk and that the fear of terror attacks persisted.
