KABUL (Pajhwok): The continuation of violence in Afghanistan would leave a negative impact on regional countries and the world, the Afghan government’s chief negotiator MasoumStanikzai said on Thursday.
He expressed the view during a meeting with European Union Special Envoy ThomasNicholson who called on him here, a statement said.
The two dignitaries discussed ongoing security situation in the county, violence, urgency for peace and ceasefire.
Chief Negotiator Stanikzai said the current war in Afghanistan has no legitimacy, adding that he and Nicholson discussed ceasefire and recent developments in the peace process.
He said Afghan negotiating team has arrived in Doha with full preparation and they expected the same from the other side.
