KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Five policeman manning a security post in Kandahar city have been poisoned to death, a security source said on Saturday.
The incident happened in Anarbagh area in limits of Kandahar city’s fifth police district on Friday night.
A reliable source, wishing anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News some people had visited the security post as guests and they poisoned the police personnel. The source said five policemen were killed in the incident.
Separately, a police officer has been shot dead in a targeted killing in AinoMain area of Kandahar city on Friday night.
A security source told Pajhwok Afghan News Police officer, AbdulGhani worked in Kandahar’s 11th police district and was killed in an insurgent attack.
Similarly, a civilian has been killed in Arghandab district.
According to security sources, unidentified gunmen killed a civilian in ZhwandoHadira area of Arghandab district.
Also a child has been killed and two individuals wounded as a result of a roadside landmine explosion in Mano village of the Shahwalikot district of the southern province.
The Taliban have not yet commented regarding these incidents.
