KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Two people of a family have been killed and four others wounded as a result of a mortar strike in southeastern Khost province, officials and residents said on Monday.
Khost police spokesman Najib Ahmad Najib told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in the Ladoor area of Musakhel district on Sunday evening.
Najib said a child and a woman were killed and three other women and a girl wounded in the incident.
He claimed the Taliban had fired the mortar shell. But a local resident said the shell was fired by government security forces.
