KABUL (Pajhwok): Protestors on Monday kept closed the Kabul-Parwan highway for a second day on Monday over the killing of a young man in Jabal Saraj district in central Parwan province, with hundreds of vehicles waiting for the road to reopen.
Dozens of protesters claimed bodyguards of a local commander, NurahmadSekandar, killed a young man named Farhad on Saturday evening.
Protesters have blocked the Kabul-Parwan highway in Jabal Saraj district since yesterday from 10:30am.
ShayiqQasemi, an eyewitness, said that the protesters did not allow any vehicle to proceed, except allowing those carrying patients, and therefore, hundreds of vehicles with their passengers remained stranded on both sides of the blockade.
Parwan police chief Brigadier General Abdul RaufUruzgani said the main culprit in the killing of Farhad and a bodyguard of Commander Sekandar had been arrested.
