LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A police tank hit a rickshaw in the capital of southern Helmand province on Tuesday, killing one person and wounding three women.
A government source, who wished anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the tank rammed into the three-wheeler in the Qasbi area of Lashkargah at around 7am.
He said the rickshaw driver was killed on the spot while three women were injured in the incident. The police tank fled the area.
Meanwhile, police spokesman Mohammad Zaman Hamdard said he was unaware of the incident. Such small frequently incidents occurred in the city, he remarked.
Overspeeding by Afghan National Army (ANA) and police personnel in the capital Kabul and elsewhere at times causes traffic accidents.
