Radio Melli Paiwand reporter killed in Logar clash

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Local Radio Melli Paiwand Reporter Hafeezullah Haqparast was killed during a clash between security forces and the Taliban in central Logar province on Wednesday, an official said.

Governor Spokesperson Dedar Lawang said the clash occurred in the Kolangar locality of Pul-i-Alam before noon.

It is not clear firing from which sided claimed the life of Haqparast, he said, adding that investigation in this regard was underway.

Melli Paiwand Radio in-charge Matiwallah Sarwar said that Hafeezullah was the resident of Arab Kala in Kulangar locality.

“He worked with us from the past four years and today he was killed in the clash,” he said.

The Taliban have not spoken about the killing of Haqparast.
