TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Four security personnel have been killed and five others, including the Ishkamish district chief, wounded in a Taliban attack in northern Takhar province.
A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants staged an attack on Ishkamish district centre on Wednesday night.
He said four security personnel were killed and five others, including Ishkamish district’s administrative head Syed Muqtadir, wounded.
Hashmatullah, a resident of the district, said the fighting had been ongoing for the past few days. “The district may fall if operations are not conducted.”
