KABUL (Pajhwok): US, Qatar and Turkey have accelerated efforts for Afghan peace process as US Chief Negotiator Zalmay Khalilzad has held a meeting with government negotiating team in Doha.
On Thursday, before leaving to Doha, Khalilzad met President Ashraf Ghani, Chairman High Council for National Reconciliation (CHCNR) Abdullah Abdullah and former President Hamid Karzai.
In a statement the government negotiating team said that acceleration of peace efforts and important matters related to the agenda of peace talks was discussed.
Khalilzad also called on Dr. Mutallaq Al Qahtani, Qatar special representative for Afghanistan, and discussed peace process.
