MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Local sources in northern Balkh province confirm that the Taliban have seized control of Zari district.
Media office of the 209thShaheen Military Corps in a statement said they had relocated the district centre of Zari district.
The statement said: “Due to the siege of Zari district and security problems, the district center has been relocated.”
According to the statement, the security forces were withdrawn from the old building in Zari district at around 8:00am and were deployed in an area between Tashliken and Omaki.
On the other hand, the Taliban said in a statement that they took over the control of Zari district, police headquarters and NDS building this morning. The Taliban claimed confiscating a number of military equipment.
